And last but not least, actual size Bailey. Such a tiny dog!
This is Izzy! A dog that our good friends from Minneapolis had for many years. I kept Izzy’s colors pretty true to form but super saturated the shadows. Enjoy!
Here is another pup painting! This time Quinn! I painted her while watching Empire Strikes Back, hence her “dark side.” I need more canvases! These are getting popular!
Shelby and Duke Final!
Both paintings are complete! I have finished both Shelby and Duke and now I need them to dry and varnish. So happy with how they turned out. Enjoy!
Again I start with my dark areas
block in the eyes and ears
then i start contouring the nose
work my way around the face with grays and greens
then i move down the face and into the chest area with like colors
now the face it taking shape, concentrating on those shadows under the mouth
then blocking in the collar and adding details to face and eyes
finishing the collar and tags
masking out the background with browns and grays
highlighting some of the areas
Final Shelby The Great Dane!
It was a lot of fun to do puppy portraits. Again, something that I’ve never tried before! Who knew!
